Tea Time

This is the midterm for my Intro to Maya(3D Rendering) class. We were supposed to think of a design for a teapot and go crazy with it. I thought that vikings were the least likely people to enjoy tea, so I thought it would be perfect :) Took me a few days to actually figure everything out, but I thought it was pretty successful, enjoy!

Valued Butcher Bot

This is the result of a value (shading) assignment that we had in my drawing for animation class. We were supposed to design a middle class robot and shade it like so. Enjoy.

New Figures

Hey all,
If the last batch of figure drawings weren't enough for you, here are a bunch more. I took another class this semester in order to get myself ready for the Animation program at BYU. I need a bunch of these to turn in with my portfolio in order to apply. Let me know what you think. Dont worry, none of these are nudes. The have something against naked people here in Provo :)

Drawing for Animation Midterm

Hey all,
Here is my midterm for my favorite class this semester. I originally designed the one on the left to be an "urban vinyl" toy for an earlier assignment during the semester. The one on the right is "The Redo". We take our original design, do extensive amounts of research to find out just how to draw the small little details correctly, applied what we have learned so far, apply the design to a theme which in this case was "The golden age of war"and voila! This is what I came up with. Let me know what you think :)

Movie Designs

These are some recent designs for a movie idea one of my professors has. It's going to be sweet. These designs are progressive from first to most recent.

Sorry its taken me so long to get new stuff up. The new semester is quite demanding...that and a little 6 month old princess demands her playtime :)

Figures

Here are the figure drawings I plan to put in my portfolio. Its funny that taking pictures of them actually takes away from the look of the drawing...meh, let me know what you think. They are in chronological order from the first ones that I did to the last. Some Ive noticed are a little blurry, Ill try and fix that but they are there for now. BE WARNED. THERE ARE NUDE FIGURES HERE! Just in case you guys get nervous by that kind of art. Enjoy!

From Chuck Norris to a bull terrier

Chuck...nuff said.

Just a guy with glasses.

The fairy is a copy from an artist at avalanche studios that you can find here. The rest are just sketches with a non-photo blue pencil. Sorry if theyre a bit hard to see...theyre non-photo!! :)

A bunch of dogs that I had to draw for a sketchbook assignment. This was kind of fun because as you can see from the rest of my blog that I don't draw a lot of them.

Alright I'll upload a few more when I have some time. Thanks for looking!

Another Attempt at Color

Here is a little pic i did tonight took about 40 min to color...and it really doesn't even look that good...by the way for those of you who noticed, he is more blond now. My wife thought it didn't look like me enough...HA! Ok fine, I changed it. I guess I will forever be a California blond boy, even though I think Ive been in California a total of 3 weeks out of my life.

The Skeleton of Pac-Man

A few caricatures that were pretty fun to draw. The one on the top left is from a website that you can find here. This is one of my many talented professors and the one who influenced the way I draw today. I love this stuff.

Yeah he looks a little flat but I went for detail on this one.

I like the pac-man skeleton.

A Couple More

Here are a bunch of gestures. These are to help me keep my drawings loose. Even though alot of these look a little stiff to me, I'm learning from them.

I call him Pleasant Man...well my sister does.

Just a guy.

I started sketching a few caricatures of my friends and family. If you see yourself or a friend let me know!!

Yeah thats a very skinny, slightly stretched, tall haired, me

A touch of color

This is my first attempt at painting in photoshop, heck my first attempt ever at color. Let me know what you think. This took about 30 - 45 min.

Long time, lots o' art

Hey all,
I finally got back to the blog. I currently am studying at BYU trying to enter in the animation program this upcoming April. We have been required to keep a sketchbook of anything and everything. I have tried a few new styles in here, mainly inking the drawings after I draw them, and I have to admit, I really like them. Enjoy, I'll get some more in a bit.

This is Rufus, he was meant to be a character in a children's book about an elderly couples adventures on their jazzys. I dont think we'll ever finish it because the co-creator is no longer part of the family.

I thought of this idea on my own...In no way or form did I get the idea from an incredibly beautiful movie about a small army of spartan warriors based on a comic book by Frank Miller...nope all my idea :) Still not finished yet as you can see.

This page was just for fun...doesnt a jawa say "WOODEENEE!!" I dunno but thats what it sounds like.

More coming soon...well as soon as blogger lets me post more pics.
