Another one down

I finished up another sketchbook and decided to start in a moleskine again. Hence the yellow paper. I am also continuing work on the Pre-Dominance war competition with the pic at the bottom. I'm loving the use of 3d coat and photoshop together. Pretty sweet stuff. Enjoy!

Pre-Dominance war

Well this is a little different of me, but I am entering an online competition type thingy called the Pre-dominance war. You go out and make a 3d character that fit certain criteria. This is my quick sketch concept for the character I am thinking of doing. The criteria: 3000 tris, no normal or bump maps, and it has to be done on the 6th of December. Here we goooooo!

Sketchybook stuff

This is stuff that I draw for fun. Mainly working on design and technique. Yes I know I cut the dudes foot off. I ran out of room alright?! Jeesh.

These are my geeky shoes

After getting some nice pretty white vans for Christmas last year I decided to embark on a project that sounded like a lot of fun. Now, 297 Days 9 hours, 42 minutes and 35 seconds later...They are FINISHED.

They were this:

They are now this:

Yay for me, now I get to wear them for a week before the snow hits...
Enjoy.

P.S. I got the idea from this guy's wife. Thanks!!

Working

We've been killing ourselves on this senior film thing. My class and I are working throughout the weeks to try and get this thing done ASAP. Yeah its not gonna happen for a bit, but hey its looking great.

Here is a little piece I did for a poster on the wall. The film is focused around boxing in the 1930's, and this is a previous boxing champ. Yes women did box back then. And they wore dresses. While they boxed.

A lot of what I am working on for the film isn't something to show. I'm mainly fixing geometry on various models and other stuff. I'll get some zbrush stuff on here soon considering I'm finally figuring out my way around it. Enjoy.

Back from Seattle

Hey all,

I'm finally back from Seattle. We had an awesome time and we are planning on heading back up there this January because I got a JOB. I will be working for the empire for the next who knows how many years, and I couldn't be happier. My wife loved it, my daughters loved it, I loved it.

On a work related note. Im still clearing up whether or not I can post my work we did on the game over the summer, so when I get that resolved, I'll post some cool stuff up here. In the meantime, here are some pages out of my sketchbook. These are mainly just for fun or to get my mind off of things. I am really growing to enjoy drawing. I dont just stress out about how bad my stuff is anymore, I just play. I still think and design and rehash the drawing, but I enjoy it now. Yes I do.

MGS

Hey everyone,
Sorry for the long time in between posts! I have recently moved to Seattle to intern with Microsoft Games Studios! If you must know, I am an art intern with a group called the SEED team. Myself and a group of interns from around the country are building an XBLA game in 10 weeks. I do concept art, modeling, rigging, textures, animating, UI...basically everything that you will see in the game. I am one of two artists working on it, so needless to say building an entire game in 10 weeks is a pretty daunting task for us. The other artist working with me is also from BYU. His name is Andrew Young and he is awesome. This is where I will be for the summer, so most of what I am doing art-wise is un-postable. I will try and get some side project stuff on here in the meantime. Wish me luck!

Progress

This here is a screen shot of the project I have been working through at work. It is far from finished but today is the first free time I have had a t work for months so I decided to dust it off and get to work. I might as well take advantage of the hardware while I'm still at Avalanche right?? Oh and more sketches and other updates to come. Enjoy.
